Even though Indonesia has also been hit by non-natural disasters, there has never been anything quite like the COVID-19 pandemic with its huge impacts on humans, including artists and arts workers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Koalisi Seni believes that arts plays a major role in fostering and maintaining the community\u2019s resilience in the face of crises. It means that supporting arts to survive will in turn help the whole community to survive during the pandemic, reducing the burden of other responsible parties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To advocate for the government and the private sector\u2019s policies which can help artists and arts workers to survive, Koalisi Seni has made the following efforts:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Recording the number of cancelled arts events<br \/>\n<\/strong>In March-April 2020, Koalisi Seni conducted a survey of cancelled arts events to ensure its policy recommendation provides a thorough perspective on the challenges faced by the arts ecosystem due to COVID-19. The aggregated data collected through this form was periodically updated and shown at the top of the page. The table containing data collected can be viewed by clicking on this link.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Collecting data on policies related to arts during the pandemic in Indonesia and other countries<br \/>\n<\/strong>Several local governments in Indonesia as well as the national government of different countries have issued policies to reduce the burden of artists and arts workers during the pandemic. The data will be updated periodically and are available on this page.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Developing policy recommendations for the government and private sector<br \/>\n<\/strong>Based on the initial assessment of the COVID-19 impacts and good practices in other countries, Koalisi Seni has developed its initial policy recommendation. Data collected through the form and from information provided by Koalisi Seni\u2019s network served as important feedback to improve the recommendations in line with the needs of artists. Koalisi Seni has also developed post pandemic policy recommendations for film ecosystem, discussed the pre-employment card (<i>Kartu Prakerja<\/i>), reviewed the #ResiliArt movement initiated by UNESCO, made predictions about the post pandemic arts ecosystem, and analyzed the new guidelines for arts activities.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Organizing an online public discussion in order to propose the policy recommendations<br \/>\n<\/strong>Koalisi Seni\u2019s policy recommendations were proposed during the online public dialog which took place on Monday, April 6, 2020, which was attended by several stakeholders. The summary of the public dialog can be found on this page.For the record, it is very unlikely that this crisis will be the last one for us.
