Irma HidayanaChair

    Irma is a member of the band Pandai Besi and is a backing singer for the band Efek Rumah Kaca. Together with her husband, she created the duo indie-art wedding (IAW) whose songs she sang again as the soloist of Nirmaya. In addition, Irma Hidayana is an activist, teacher and researcher in public health. The focus of her studies and advocacy is the impact of industry on public health and child nutrition, the right to health, and digital health innovations. Irma founded a platform for monitoring violations of the international code of marketing of breast milk substitutes called HubunganKode.

    Since 2021, she has been teaching Public Health in the United States with a focus on Commercial Determinants of Health, which includes the International Code of Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes. She is currently a lecturer in Public Health at Hofstra University, New York, USA, after previously being a LUCE Fellow at St. Lawrence University, USA.

    Irma completed her undergraduate studies in Philosophy at UGM, her Masters in Public Health at Monclair State University, USA, and her Doctorate in Health and Behavioral Sciences at Columbia University, USA.

    She is one of the initiators of *LaporCovid-19*, a collective initiative to provide a space for citizen participation in collecting reports, data & information about Covid-19. and the founder of the virtual Rumah Sehat Rakyat which provides free telehealth health and mental health services.
