  1. “Keberlangsungan Lembaga Seni di 8 Kota di Indonesia (The Sustainability of Arts Institutions in 8 Cities Across Indonesia)” study in 2015.
  2. Active participation in Seni Lawan Korupsi (Arts vs. Corruption) movement in 2015.
  3. Participation in the Indonesian arts Congress III in Bandung in 2015.
  4. Cultural Hotspots program in 4 cities in Eastern Indonesia from 2015 to 2017.
  5. Melek Anggaran Seni (Understanding Budget for Art) workshop in Palu and Makassar, in collaboration with FITRA (Forum Indonesia untuk Transparansi Anggaran or Indonesian Forum for Budget Transparency) network in 2016
  6. Advocacy of Culture Bill, amended to Law No. 5/2017 on Cultural Advancement, including monitoring the development of its derivative regulations.
  7. Six series of discussion on arts and activism in Indonesia, with Asep Topan as the curator for discussion, throughout 2017.
  8. “Filantropi di Indonesia: Mengapa Tidak untuk Kesenian? (Philanthropy in Indonesia: Why Not for the Arts Too?)” book, published in collaboration with Filantropi Indonesia in 2017.

In 2017, Koalisi Seni, the Deputy for Access to Capital of the Creative Economy Agency, the Directorate-General for Cultures of the Ministry of Education and Culture, and Filantropi Indonesia, declared their commitment to collectively support and partner with one another to promote philanthropy for arts and culture in Indonesia through the arts and Culture Philanthropy Cluster Indonesia.
  10. Dissemination of information regarding the Law No. 5 of 2017 on Cultural Advancement in several regions across Indonesia, including Makassar, Bali, Surabaya, Jakarta, and Ambon throughout 2018.
  11. Participation in the Indonesia Development Forum (IDF) 2018 with the aim of promoting the idea of taking into account the arts and culture perspective in the development plan created by the strategic parties, such as the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) and relevant ministries/agencies.
  12. Participation in the preparation for and the implementation of Bincang Musik (Music Talk) of the 2018 Indonesian Music Conference in Ambon, producing 12 action plans and leading up to the 2019 Indonesian Music Conference in Bandung.
  13. Active participation in the development of the Indonesian Cultural Strategies through the Pre-Cultural Congress forum.
  14. Publishing “Dampak Seni di Masyarakat (The Impacts of Arts on Society)” book in 2019 to increase public support for arts and culture.
  15. Succeeding in having the cultural trust fund proposal approved that the government is committed to allocate 2 trillion rupiahs per year for that purpose starting in 2021.

Where does Koalisi Seni’s financial resources come from?

One of Koalisi Seni’s sources to fund its programs is the membership contribution, which is an annual mandatory fee for members. The amount of contribution is defined at the General Meeting of Koalisi Seni Members, which is IDR 100,000/year for individuals and IDR 200,000,-/year for institutions. Koalisi Seni also receives funds from several donor agencies.

Who partners with Koalisi Seni?

Koalisi Seni partners with the Center for Indonesian Law and Policy Studies for legal affairs and policies, PricewaterhouseCoopers Indonesia for providing information on tax incentives for arts and culture donations, and Fitra (Forum Indonesia untuk Transparansi Anggaran or Indonesian Forum for Budget Transparency) for budget transparency. We also partner with Penabulu to provide systems for administration and financial management, PLUS (Platform Usaha Sosial or Social Initiative Platform) for the development of business units, and INSPIRIT (Inspirasi Tanpa Batas or Inspirations without Limits) for the facilitation of capacity building.

Who are Koalisi Seni donors?

Several grantmaking agencies have helped Koalisi Seni, including Hivos (2012–2015), the Embassy of Denmark (2015–2017), Ford Foundation (2017–2021), the Embassy of Norway (2017–2019), the Indonesian Music Conference (2018–2019), and UNESCO (2020–2021).
