Since the age of three, Linda learned classical ballet in Berlin, Germany. After completing high school in Jakarta, a grant from the Asian Cultural Council (ACC) enabled her to study contemporary dance at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York. Upon graduation, she toured internationally as principal dancer with Elisa Monte Dance company.
To realize her dream, mastering the art of arts management, with combined grants from ACC and scholarships from Columbia University, she took an early retirement as dancer, earned her BA in Dance, and a Masters in Arts Administrations from Columbia University, New York. Back in Jakarta, she taught arts management at the Jakarta Institute for the Arts. In 1999, she co-founded Kelola to support Indonesians working in dance, music, theatre and the visual arts. She has since served as Chair of Kelola’s Executive Board.
In 2012 together with 41 other cross-disciplinary arts practitioners, who envision a healthier arts ecosystem in Indonesia, she co-founded a nationwide coalition for the arts, Koalisi Seni, and served as Treasurer of the Executive Board and currently as Chair of the Supervisory Board. Since several years ago she also serves on the Board of Filantropi Indonesia.
